Don’t Get Caught in the Chaos
It is a chaotic time in our country. One minute you are hearing about economic uncertainty and in the next
about political tensions. Despite the chaos, there are people who are figuring out ways to thrive. The most
effective people are those who believe that you still get results when you take intelligent action and focused
effort.
Top performers in this century will be those who are comfortable with uncertainty. They understand that you
will never have enough information. They know the rules are constantly changing. In the midst of chaos,
winners do not fall into over-whelm and dysfunction. They know that action with intention and purposeful
effort in the midst of the chaos are still the keys to success. They get things done.
Successful people set personal boundaries. They structure their own lives and refuse to get caught up in
other people's drama. They know how to close their doors and ignore disruptions. They know where they
are going and they tolerate few, if any, distractions. They are focused on their priorities and their desired
outcomes. They know what they want and they can see, taste, smell and even touch their results in
advance. They have specific goals rather than mere hopes or dreams. These people are self-directed. In
charge of their lives and chaos around them is merely someone else's drama.
“Everything you want is out there waiting for you to ask.
Everything you want also wants you. But you have to take action to get it.”
Jack Canfield
I encourage you to look at the chaos as an opportunity. Chaos can sometimes open doors that were once
not there. Take care of what you can control. Stay focused on your goals and aspirations. Rather than
reacting from a place of anxiety or anger, take thoughtful action to respond to the ever changing world. It is
okay to observe the chaos, just don’t allow yourself to get caught up in it.
Do something positive for yourself this week,
Kevin
Break Free From The Bondage
So many of us live our lives as if we were are trapped, or in bondage, by what life has provided us so far.
We work at jobs we don't like, participate in communities that no longer serve us, or live in places that don’
t provide us what we want. We don't have time to learn a new skill or hobby, or return to school in order to
enhance our careers. We are trapped by self-induced fears of failure, or embarrassment.

Out on a Limb
Whenever you take a chance and go out on a limb, you risk the possibility of falling flat on your face.
However, in order to enjoy the “fruit” of your labor you have to keep climbing, and occasionally have the
courage to go out on limb. Unfortunately, we often fear the prospect of failing or making a mistake. So
rather than climbing the tree, or boldly reaching for opportunities, too many people elect to remain on the
ground where it is perceived to be safe. While staying on the ground may keep you from falling from the
tree it doesn’t prevent you from falling down.

Your Independence Day
So many of us are too busy, distracted, confused, or frustrated, to take advantage of our personal freedom.
We don’t take the time to envision a clear direction, develop an action plan, and do the hard work to pursue
our passions in life. Too many people are trapped by debt, stuck in jobs they don’t like, or living a lifestyle
that doesn't meet their needs.

Attitude Thought for the Week
Attitude Makes a Difference
We sometimes fail to recognize just how important out attitude is in overcoming life’s most troubling
situations. Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us. It determines our fate and our
future. If we sincerely believe that life is full of abundance, opportunity, and happiness, it will be. With a
great attitude there is nothing that can keep you down or hold you back.

Bend, Don't Break
Getting down on yourself is a normal experience that we go through every now and then. Even the most
successful get down from time to time. But, while it is okay to be down, it is not okay to stay down. Keep in
mind that nothing can break you without your permission. And, anything that doesn’t break you can
ultimately make you stronger.

Positively Motivated
To stay positively motivated, begin by examining your core values. This is where so many people struggle.
Here is an example: We might state we value being ambitious, because we “think” we should value
ambition, but in reality we actually value relaxing and vacationing more. So, it is important to get real clear
your values, and determine what is most important to you.

The Gremlin Inside
In each of us is an inner voice that is constantly trying to steal our dreams. That inner voice or “gremlin”
does not like change and is very critical. It is constantly telling you lie’s about your abilities and your
potential. It is always there to point out your weaknesses, your fears, and your past failures. It takes joy in
reinforcing your self-limiting judgments. The gremlin is there to hold you back and keep you down.

Last week someone shared with me that she was caught up in
the chaos of life. Just when it seemed that things are settling
down, there is another crisis. She was worried that she had
lost her focus and was letting too many of life’s distractions
keep her down.
You always have a choice, even if it is only a choice of your attitude.
