What to Expect from Coaching
Just by having a coach, and talking with him/her on a regular basis, you will get plenty of
value. The best part about working with a coach is that you don’t have to work hard for the
benefits of the coaching process to occur.
Every coach has his or her own coaching style. If you want to maximize the value of the
coaching relationship, it is important that you know about how your coach works with clients.
The following list explains what I expect of my clients and what they can expect from me.
Expect Results
It is not my plan to just make you feel good. The purpose of my practice is to achieve positive
results in your life. I fully expect that my clients will ultimately discover their own brilliance and
generate truly fulfilled lives.
The Clients I Work With Are Wonderful
I choose what clients I work with. These are individuals whose purpose is to find a purpose.
My clients are great people who have made a choice to grow, and I consider it an honor and a
privilege to assist them in attaining the personal and professional lives they choose to create.
Coaching Takes The Entire Week
There are 168 hours / 10,080 minutes in a 7-day week. Coaching is occurring all during your
week, not just during the coaching session. This is the power of the coaching relationship.
What we discuss during the coaching sessions will resonate with you during the week, and
some of the ideas will grow between sessions.
Be Ready to do Your Best
By working with a coach you are probably ready to do your best. However, if you don’t feel
you can offer your best effort, I will be there for you to be listened to, appreciated, and help
you get back on track to creating your future.
I Am Here For You
You are a unique individual, with unique dreams and desires. My commitment to you is that I
will hold on to these for you, and help you not to lose sight of them. My sincere want for you,
as a client, is to realize and experience the life that is a true expression of you.
We Talk About What Matters To You Most
You are encouraged to talk about anything you want to during the coaching session. This
includes your dreams, what you want to improve, what’s bothering you, any idea’s you have or
the wonderful events that are happening in your life. It is okay to be selfish during the
coaching session and talk about what you want to talk about, not what you think you “should”
discuss.
Be Open to Exploring and Evolving
You will get more out of coaching if you are willing to re-look at some of your perceptions,
expectations, beliefs, and approaches to success. You won't be forced or even encouraged to
make any changes, but I do ask that you at least consider different approaches and ways of
thinking and try them out to see if they work for you.
I Am Available as a Resource, Not A Crutch
As your coach, I will be there for you with non-judgmental understanding, empathy,
compassion, strength and caring for you. My want for you is to feel comfortable sharing your
world with me. I just ask that you use me as a resource to improve your life, and not become
dependent on me.
Clients Are Expected To Take Action
I will ask you to come up with 3 actions to work on between sessions. If three action items are
too many, just say so. The idea behind completing actions is to keep you moving forward
towards the life you ultimately want to achieve.
Expect the Coaching Process To Be A Fulfilling And Joyful
Again, the people I work with are wonderful. This makes the process of coaching a wonderful
experience for both the client and the coach. If you are an active participant in the creation of
your life, you will realize your true brilliance!
